The address puts you on Rue du Fossé-des-Tanneurs, deep enough in the tannery quarter that the worst of the tourist current has already passed by. The outdoor terrace catches the last of the afternoon sun, making it a natural stop for a cinq à sept drink before wandering down toward les Ponts Couverts or up to place Benjamin-Zix for dinner. On a hot day it's genuinely one of the better places to decompress in this part of the neighborhood.

Food is real and reasonably priced — the oysters with a glass of rosé have a following, and the broader menu holds up without trying to be anything it isn't. This isn't a winstub and doesn't pretend to be: it's a bar that takes its cocktails seriously and rounds out the offer with solid, unfussy food.
