Most bars around here are drinks-only or pivot so hard into food that the atmosphere suffers. Café Berlin stays balanced.

The square itself does half the work — it's one of those Krutenau spots where the whole block hums on a warm evening, the kind of place where an apéro at seven can quietly become midnight without anyone planning it. The terrace has plenty of room, which matters when the rest of the quai des Bateliers stretch fills up fast on weekends.

The international evenings are the standout ritual here. Tuesday and Friday bring a crowd that's half local, half passing through Strasbourg — you'll hear German, English, Spanish mixed in with the French.
