Where other bars around here coast on the colombages backdrop and a short tap list, Le METEOR operates on a different scale entirely. It handles group bookings of 50 as smoothly as a two-top on a Tuesday, which makes it the go-to when someone in the office Slack is wrangling a work dinner or a late-night round for a dozen friends arriving off the train.

The space itself earns its keep: a late-industrial interior — dark wood, steel fixtures, high ceilings — that doesn't feel assembled from a mood board. The terrace fills fast when the sun is out, but there's real room inside, and it's worth the look even when you'd rather sit outside.

Meteor is an Alsatian brewery, and drinking their beer here, on their territory, makes sense. Skip the single pint and go for the tasting set — it's the more interesting way in. On the food side, the flammkueche is the obvious order and it holds up. The nachos are better than they have any right to be. The falafel has a following among regulars. There's usually a daily special running — a lasagna has shown up more than once and apparently does well.

A few honest notes: busy evenings mean waits, full stop. The gluten-free options and pet-friendly policy make it more flexible than most spots near les Ponts Couverts. WiFi works, water is free if you ask, and card payments are accepted — practical things that matter when you're sorting out a group tab.

Le METEOR knows exactly what it is: a large-format bar that hasn't gone slack on the details. That combination is rarer than it should be in this part of town.
