Come back at dusk and the same space has shifted into something moodier: vaulted ceilings, low light, a wine list with real depth. Most places on this stretch of Krutenau pick a lane. This one doesn't.

The format is tapas-style — small plates meant to share, with enough vegetarian and fish options to keep a mixed table happy. The lamb gets mentioned repeatedly by people who clearly weren't expecting much, and the roasted cauliflower holds its own. The crème brûlée is worth saving room for. Portions are on the compact side and prices sit at the higher end of moderate, so this isn't your spontaneous Tuesday cheap-eat — it's a deliberate choice, and it rewards being treated as one.

The Gothic interior is committed without tipping into theme-park territory. The terrace, right on rue de Zurich, fills fast once the weather shows up — this is Krutenau, and everyone migrates outside the moment it's possible. Reservations are held for two hours, which creates a natural rhythm: enough time to work through a few plates and a bottle, not enough to lose the evening entirely.

Practical notes: book ahead, especially Thursday through Saturday. The manager is genuinely helpful on wine pairings — ask, and you'll get an actual answer rather than a shrug. If you're coming for brunch, arrive close to opening; that degustation menu is a specific experience worth doing properly.
