Beeside Balcony Del Mar

Happy hour so good you don’t even need a drink (but they’re all under $10 if you do)!! Treated myself to a dozen of their fresh, sweet, raw oysters on the half shell, followed by their grilled Côte D’Azur oysters and some crispy rosemary fries. Just a short walk from the water, which you can catch some gorgeous views of on the balcony.

This review is for the happy hour only, or as Beeside Balcony calls it, “buzzy hour.” We order the happy hour Syrah and Sauvignon blanc…both great, especially for only $6. We basically ordered all the food on the happy hour except the oysters. Everything was tasty. Next time, I would skip the tacos. The flavor was lacking and they were pretty skimpy on the fish. There are also so many amazing places to eat tacos in San Diego, these ones are not worth it. My favorite was the meatballs - tender with a nice flavor. The octopus ceviche places second. Fries were ok but they had a strong truffle flavor in the actual fries (not just the ketchup). Overall, it was a nice happy hour and I’d love to go back and try the full menu. Oh, did I mention the view? Beautiful and great for the sunset! The restaurant certainly had a nice vibe.

Matt was friendly and helpful with recommendations, my husband and I both really enjoyed our cocktails, the charcuterie board, and for my entree I had the octopus!!!🥰🥰🥰 My husband loved the lamb!!! Thanks for a great 1st experience Matt!!!
