We live close to Golden Spoon and stop by all the time. It’s a classic, family-owned frozen yogurt shop that always feels welcoming.
The menu has a wide variety of toppings, and I like that it’s not self-serve — they build it for you. The flavors rotate regularly, with staples that stick around and specialty flavors that pop up. I also love the new sign they put up suggesting topping pairings for different flavors (like Rocky Road) — it’s a fun touch.
Service has always been friendly and quick, even when the line looks long. On hot days it gets busy, but I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes. Always a dependable, delicious sweet treat in the neighborhood.
Overall, this place is pretty average — and I don’t necessarily mean that in a bad way. The ice cream itself is fine, but nothing really stands out. The flavors are decent, the texture is okay, and it does the job, but it’s not something I’d go out of my way for.
The staff, on the other hand, are solid. Nothing exceptional, but friendly enough and easy to interact with. Ordering feels straightforward, and the experience is smooth without any awkwardness or friction.
The best way I’d describe the whole visit is consistently average, which honestly counts for something. There are no big highs, but also no real lows. If you’re looking for something reliable and “pretty good” across the board, this place delivers exactly that.
Very polite and attentive staff. She made me a custom PB and strawberry shake with toppings 9 dollars. A lil pricey but I'll go back. I already drank some and ate some toppings lol when I took the pic
Maybe not the best place to get Froyo.
It melts pretty quick and gives you the taste of lower quality fro-yo.
It's also very sweet too. I made the mistake of loading it with all kinds of sweets when it could have best benefited from only sprinkles, strawberries and blue berries.
The guy will make it look pretty though. He'll pile it up high and still top it off with more yogurt!
The price is awesome! I don't think they charge you by weight but by size. I got the medium and it was plenty and reasonably priced. With so much going on around, it makes for a good place to hangout and chat.
We are fans of the Golden Spoon off Black Mountain. It tastes significantly better. I think the owner is diluting the yogurt to make it last longer— the yogurt is slightly sour, which tells me that she isn’t putting in enough flavoring. She also didn’t let us use our rewards and charged to dine in. She also did not give us enough toppings. I think their money problems are making them cut too many corners. I have never not finished ice cream before
