I had such an amazing experience at Mia Marie Vineyards.
The owner was so knowledgeable and welcoming. The tasting flight was great and the flavor profiles aligned perfectly with my palate. I enjoyed the live musician on site, who had a great voice and set a nice mellow vibe. Also, the food truck on-site served up some really good flatbreads. To end the evening, I got to enjoy the breathtaking views of the sunset. It was the perfect welcome to San Diego. Great wine, great views and top-tier atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!
Mia Marie is my go to, close to home, local winery. Absolutely beautiful setting with great wine! Tonight's bottle was a lovely redmond red wine! Until next time Mia Marie!
My husband and I recently enjoyed our second visit to Mia Marie Vineyards. And equal to our first visit, service was stellar, the wine was wonderful, and the views, spectacular!
Tanner, our server, keyed into our taste right away and delivered us the perfect selections of red wines! We brought in a picnic dinner, sat overlooking the canyon, and enjoyed the views, wine, live music, and a couple of games of corn hole!
If you enjoy wineries, I highly recommend taking some time to visit Mia Marie Vineyards!
After a day at the Safari Park, we made a reservation at Mia Marie Winery, and the setting was absolutely stunning. Perched on top of a hill, the winery overlooks a gorgeous valley with mountain views, and they had live music, which added to the ambiance.
Our group of six did a wine tasting, which was reasonably priced at $25 for five tastings. It was nice that they offered non-alcoholic options for me since I’m pregnant, and they even served it in a wine glass, which made me feel like part of the experience.
That said, the service could have been better. The first glass was poured by the server. Instead of pouring the rest of the 4 glasses for us, they brought out 4 a single glasses with the other wines (to be shared between four people, and we had to pour our own wine). It felt a bit stressful to divide it evenly, and it would have been more enjoyable if the staff handled the pours—both to ensure accuracy and to keep the wine fresh instead of sitting and warming up. We would finish one and then go onto the next. It also lacked the usual experience of a tasting, where they pour one by one and explained each wine in the moment. We asked her if she could explain what we were drinking. She was really sweet after that and truly not that big of a deal but was just an odd thing.
It may have been because we were there at the end of the day. Despite that, the views were incredible, and the wine selection was solid, with most of the wines being quite nice. I would consider going back, but I’d really prefer if they adjusted their tasting process to be more guided and interactive rather than self-serve.
Overall, a beautiful location with great potential, but I hope they refine the experience a bit!
Beautiful winery and there were lots of seating all around. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the place was busy. Lots of people brought their dogs along which is nice to see that it's dog friendly.
The lady who was our server was great. She told us about each wine before pouring each of our tastings. Answered the questions our two sommelier friends were asking her.
There are so many rave reviews on their wines but I was disappointed. I didn't care for any of their wines. And their bottle prices were about $20 more than what neighboring wineries were charging for their better tasting wines.
