Twelfth-floor views of the bay, the airport, and Point Loma from San Diego's most storied fine dining room. Classic American with California flair. The sunset from the terrace is one of the best free shows in the city.

I knew this restaurant was highly recommended but I didn't realize it would be such a wonderful experience. From the food, to the service, to the incredible view of the city and planes flying in. If you are in San Diego and want to treat yourself, I think this is the place to go. I had the local citrus salad, which comes with burrata 👌 and the tenderloin was prefectly cooked. My server also perfectly paired my food with a great Pinot Noir wine. Also, the service was exactly what you would expect from a five star restaurant. I was dining solo, but I never felt rushed to clear the table or uncomfortable for being there alone. It was just perfect!

I have always wanted to go to Mister A's! What a gorgeous, historic restaurant. I went on a Wednesday night at 7pm, and was welcomed by an elegant, dimly lit rooftop vibe. The staff were welcoming and gave great cocktail suggestions. The oysters were fresh & predressed. The tater tots with caviar were good, but I felt the main flavor was the tot rather than the caviar. For the main, I got the 8oz steak and it was good, but lacked a bit of seasoning. Don't skip the brussel sprouts. The Me & Mine cocktail was one of the best I've had in a while, and I couldn't stop eating the bread. Honey cake for dessert it the way to go. Thanks for a great experience!

Had a beautiful date here. Bill was our waiter and he was amazing! He was accommodating and personable, very attentive and professional. We sat outside on the terrace with plenty of heat lamps to keep us warm. We got pork belly, bread/baguettes, lobster, and ribeye steak. Loved the red top pork belly, this was the best dish. It was very savory, the pork belly and sticky rice were delicious. I got the butter poached Maine lobster cacio e pepe. I thought the lobster was perfect, buttery, and juicy. The pasta itself was overly salty which made me realize a lot of the rest of the food was very salty. I tried the gratin croustillant that came with the steak and found it to be very salty too. I do love salt but it was a bit overpowering and I couldn't finish my pasta because of it. I would never send back food as nicely prepared as this. I had a wonderful evening and it was a memorable experience.

I came here by myself for dinner around New Year’s, and it turned out to be such a lovely experience. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere felt warm, elegant, and calm ,perfect for enjoying a quiet dinner alone. My server, Elizabeth, was incredibly sweet and kind. She made me feel comfortable right away and took such good care of me throughout the evening. She was attentive without being overwhelming, and our small conversations felt natural and genuinely pleasant. Dining alone can sometimes feel awkward, but she made it feel easy and relaxed. From the décor, to the service, to the overall vibe, everything came together beautifully. It was one of those nights where you simply enjoy good food, good energy, and your own company. I left feeling happy and well taken care of. I would absolutely come back again—and I’d love to be served by Elizabeth next time.

Beautiful views as noted in other reviews. We booked for sunset in February so asked to sit inside. The host was able to accommodate a window table which was lovely. Glad to sit inside as once the sun set it was quite dark for the outside tables. Service was on point where each person who took care of us was knowledgeable and professional. Drinks came very quickly. I loved the Sunset Sour and my husband preferred the Manhattan he ordered 2nd. The bread was okay but the mushroom streusel was delicate and delicious! I also went vegetarian on the main with the winter squash risotto and yes - recommend! Husband got the scallops and they were okay, had a nice sear. Brussels were also good. Definite yes on the dessert of baked Alaska brownie.
